The Maps & Local team is on a mission to empower people and organizations everywhere to explore, navigate, and connect in the physical world via Maps and Local data, services and experiences provided within the Microsoft Edge and Bing toolsets.

Responsibilities

  • Ship high-quality, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code  

  • Work closely with the leadership and product owner to help address business needs while maintaining engineering standards and paying down technical debt  

  • Experiment with and recommend new technologies that simplify or improve our stack   

  • Build engaging mobile user experiences 

  • Work in a world class engineering team of engineers, architects, scientists, and leadership that will help you grow your career 

Qualifications

*Seeking candidates with experience in:  *

  • Designing, building, and maintaining complex mobile applications with a particular emphasis on the UI (interactions, styling, etc.) on Android or iOS 

  • Mobile App development in Kotlin or Swift

  • Using and maintaining Android or iOS build systems  

  • Interpreting mockups and translating them into polished and resolved UIs  

  • Optimizing client performance  

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field or relevant equivalent work experience 

  • TypeScript eperience will be advantageous
