Microsoft Corporation Senior Software Engineer – Compilers in Barcelona, Spain

Are you passionate about building fast and reliable software used by millions of people? Do you have experience in compiler optimization and performance analysis? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Edge Browser Performance team at Microsoft.

As a Software Development Engineer on the Edge Browser Performance team, you will be responsible for improving the performance of the Edge browser across various platforms and devices. You will work on challenging and impactful projects, such as:

Responsibilities

  • Developing and tuning compiler optimizations and features to improve for the Edge browser for our users.

  • Analyzing and optimizing the performance of the Edge browser on various metrics, such as startup time, page load time, memory usage, and power consumption.

  • Work with other performance analysts to uncover new performance opportunities.

  • Collaborating with other teams across Microsoft and the open-source community to leverage and contribute to the LLVM and Chromium projects.

  • Investigating and resolving performance issues reported by customers and partners.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Relevant years of experience in software development, with a focus on performance or compiler optimization.

  • Proficiency in C++, LLVM, and performance analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with web browser architecture and web standards.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • A passion for learning and solving complex problems.
