Maintenance Planning Assistant - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, Ohio

The Maintenance Planning Assistant works for the Maintenance Planner and is the focal point for interfacing between maintenance, production, and other departments. This position requires an individual who is a self-starter that has strong organizational, technical, and analytical skills. Experienced in communication and inter-personal skills are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Schedules preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and repair maintenance to minimize disruption to the shop schedule.

  • Verifies all material required for jobs is on-hand prior to the job commencement.

  • Coordinates with production outside vendor repairs to mitigate conflicts with production schedule and vendor work.

  • Utilizes SAP maintenance modules to develop long range PM plans and communicates these plans with order departments for load planning.

  • Prepares reports, develops metrics, and monitors maintenance work to ensure work is being accomplished in a timely manner.

  • Communicates with maintenance and production personnel as needed on the upcoming schedule and gives updates during the execution of work.

  • Identifies and resolves scheduling conflicts between maintenance and production schedules to optimize workload.

  • Trains new SAP users in the use of the maintenance modules for work order creation.

  • Monitors work orders, investigates unclear work orders, and corrects any work orders that have errors. 

  • This is a 1st shift position with the following core hours, Mon-Fri (7:30am-4:00pm). Additional details on schedule requirements will be covered.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 6-years maintenance experience in an industrial environment is required.

  • Experience with HBM, VBM, Lathes, Robot welders and production welding is desired.

  • Previous experience in maintenance planning is preferred.

  • 3-years’ experience with SAP maintenance is strongly preferred.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills are a must.

  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite are a must.

  • Must be available for scheduled overtime, including some weekends.
