BWXT is currently seeking a Contract and Proposal Specialist for its Barberton, OH location!

Job Description/Duties:

  • Ensure accurate and complete submission of responsive bids, adhering to deadlines.

  • Maintain responsibility for all aspects of proposal preparation to ensure that bids are responsive, competitive, and complete.

  • Analyze RFP requirements, then determine the mark up and price strategy necessary to achieve and sustain BWXT profit goals.

  • Engage in the proposal process from the receipt of Request for Proposals (RFP), to leading negotiations through the successful conclusion of proposal Award.

  • Identify and evaluate associated risks with proposed projects and address these factors with management.

  • Learn and maintain knowledge of various Federal Regulations, such as FAR / DFAR.

  • Interact and coordinate with customers and internal functions during bidding and contracting phases.

  • Lead BWXT negotiating process for new contracts.

  • Review all purchase orders and purchase order agreements.

  • Maintain positive customer relations and marketing efforts directed toward maximizing quotation opportunities.

  • Lead BWXT team during Contract Closeout activities.

  • Work onsite at the assigned work location in Barberton, Ohio. This is a fully onsite position.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited school in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Ability to analyze cost estimates for RFPs.

  • Ability to learn and retain knowledge of Government contract law and contracting techniques, such as negotiation and data analysis.

  • Analytical competency to understand technical specifications.

  • Strong time management, organization, and computer skills.

  • Self-motivated with ability to work on multiple tasks and superior attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to learn all aspects of the business.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

  • Must be able to work onsite in the assigned office located in Barberton, Ohio.

    Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of related and comparable work experience with RFP process.

  • Knowledge of the company’s product, or similar industry operations.

  • Prior experience with Estimating software. ProPricer experience a plus.

    Pay: $ 53,000 - $ 86,000

    The base salary range for this position in Ohio at the start of employment is expected to be between $53,000 and $86,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
