Aerotek CNC Programmer in Barberton, Ohio

Shift Description:

  • 1st shift

  • 6:00am - 3:30pm

  • Monday - Friday (can work 1/2 day Saturdays 6 am - noon)

Job Description:

  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plan, material specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces & machining parameters

  • Program mills by entering instructions, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation & conditional switches

  • Set up mills by installing and adjusting 3 & 4 jaw chucks, tools and attachments

  • Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position; may require crane/hoists

  • Verify setting by measuring positions

  • Operate CNC Mills maintaining specifications by observing, spooling and cutting including turning, facing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting & reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools

  • Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes

  • Inspect parts to verify conformance to specifications

  • Complete preventative maintenance procedures on equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, advise of need for repairs

  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

  • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, malfunctions & continuing needs

  • Mentor and train other machine operators

  • Maintain inventory; order or request orders for machine parts, equipment and stock

  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical publications

  • 5 years experience in programming & operating CNC mill

  • Read blueprints & interpret material specifications

  • Knowledge of machining controls & instrumentation; machine maintenance

  • Strategic understanding of business plan and objectives

  • Sounds judgment, diplomacy, attention to detail

  • Standing 50% of the work day

  • Lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to utilize crane/hoist

  • Display safety in all actions in the workplace
