Surgical Physician Assistant Opportunity in Maine

Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join our busy, growing practice in Bangor, Maine. The Physician Assistant will function as a surgical first assist for all surgical sub-specialties and p rovide weekday inpatient coverage of all non-ICU surgical patients on the surgical unit.

Responsibilities Include:

· First assist all surgical sub-specialties at EMMC.

· Pre and Post-operative assessments.

· Evaluate, diagnose and implement treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians and nursing staff.

· Ensure continuity of care through sign-out from overnight PA coverage. Daily participation in multidisciplinary rounds (MDR), care coordination, and discharge planning.

· Respond to urgent/emergent clinical issues. Collaborate with attending services to provide appropriate, timely care in effort to reduce morbidity, mortality, and length of stay.

· Interact with and clinically supervise allied health personnel as assigned for patient management.

Maine Physician Assistant and DEA Licenses (or immediate eligibility) required.
