Job Summary

  • Minimum 9 years of experience in below job requirements

  • Understand the Plant requirements on Mechanical fixtures, Work station layout (Machining, Assembly /Sub Assembly line fixtures, Manipulators, Material Handling equipment, test fixtures) and develop solutions that meets the project objective.

  • Involve in schedule planning, interact with multiple functions to understand the Quality, Safety and Reliability aspects of the solution and map it to the expectations.

  • Interface with suppliers, integrators and contractors in the development phase of fixtures and ensure targets are met on execution time, quality and cost.

  • Act as overall Project owner and communicates with the other technicalengineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design and assure project completion.

  • Functions as direct contact for stakeholders and as such has a direct impact on customer satisfaction.

  • Validating / checking the mechanical system using software (Ansys / Mathcad / Minitab) backed up with hand calculations, FEA, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the project PRD, PDD and interacting with SBU on requirements.

  • Responsible for leading design and development of Mechanical system, BOM preparation and assembly line automation.

  • 25% Domestic & international travel to supplier office and plant locations for project validation and development

  • Responsible to ensure and comply with safety and internal/ plant design standards.

  • Responsible to deliver 100% QDC on all assigned tasks and expected to be a good team player.

  • Design and development of work station layout, overhead setup and material handling systemProvides technical expertise on designing workstation layout and processes, for improving the lead time of operations and maintenance.

  • Responsible for varied engineering assignments including designing assembly layouts in plants, test systems, communication protocols and automation.

  • Works under limited/no supervision. Involved in purchasing/documenting and awareness of budgets.

Qualifications:

  • B.Tech / M.Tech with Industrial Design and Automation specialization or Production or Manufacturing Management

  • Minimum 9 years of experience in Special Purpose Machine Design, Tool & Die Design, Jigs and Fixture Design.

Key Competencies:

  • Specialized skills in Assembly and test Fixture Design

  • Advanced knowledge on Manufacturing Process Excellence

  • Design workstation LayoutProcess Capability Study

  • Ergonomic study

  • Hands on Experience in Creo

  • Experience in Design of Machine Tool Feed Systems with Ball screw, Hydraulic Cylinder, Different types of Guideways, Gantry systems, Design of Fixture, Spindles, Slides, Base, Column, Counter Balancing, Headstocks, Machine guards and Piping required.

  • Hands on experience in New Machine Concept Generation, 2D Sketches, Costing, Selection of Rails / Ball screws /coupling, Selection of Servo motors / Motors + Hand Calculations, Selection of Sensors, Structure analysis + Hand calculation, Standard BOM Follow-ups with Vendors, Part drawing, Assembly drawing, DFMEA + PFMEA, BOM Management, Pneumatic Ckt . Diagram Cycle time, Sequence of operation.
