Description

Datapath team is looking for a System Development Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru to deliver strategic goals. Our team is responsible for managing Datapath Platform, a foundational platform that is core to Amazon’s eCommerce business.Amazon customers using Kindle, Prime,Instant Video,Fulfillment or just shopping online depend on highly available servers backed by Datapath Platform.

Our team supports the operational and tooling needs for this massively scaled, high performance, reliable and cost effective data-centric platform. Our mission is to enable the business by increasing efficiency , reducing operational toil and increasing developer productivity.

As a System Development Engineer, you will independently create tools and automation to reduce the operational toil of engineers by automating the repetitive manual tasks and manage infrastructure for one of the biggest fleets in Amazon. You will closely collaborate with development teams to identify operational need, define processes and troubleshoot issues. You will also work of efficiency improvement and other critical organizational goals like Regional Flex, Exit MAWS and Graviton Migration. An ideal candidate must be detail oriented , shows good ownership and independently handle critical systems and show operational excellence.

Key job responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting and mitigating production issues ,developing tools and automation to eliminate repetitive manual tasks, improving operational excellence and resiliency of the systems. You improve your teams operational health by participating in design, operations and post-incident reviews to identify risks and mitigate them.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience

  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

  • Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
