  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Systems Engineering Director with a minimum of 20 years of industry experience to join our Systems Engineering Excellence Team.

  • The successful candidate will be the key person in driving the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems for our medical applications.

  • As Software Systems Engineering Excellence Lead, you will work with a allocated budget; hire and lead a team of talented engineers and collaborate closely with Philips businesses to deliver high quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients and contribute to the advancement of healthcare technology.

  • You will be the thought leader who will invited to inside and outside conferences on Software Systems Engineering

  • Experience in Remote Software Distribution and Installation (RSDI) is a big plus.

Your role:

  • Lead the design, architecture, and development of software systems for Philips medical applications, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Sponsor and program management use cases with Philips businesses with SMART targets and clear agreements.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs, to define requirements, prioritize tasks, and drive project execution.

  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and design to implementation, testing, and deployment.

  • Conduct thorough technical reviews and ensure the quality and integrity of software deliverables, while identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimization.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory standards relevant to medical software development, and leverage this knowledge to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in software development, with a focus on complex systems engineering and architecture

  • Proven track record of successfully leading software development projects from conception to delivery, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry

  • Expertise in software design principles, architecture patterns, and system integration techniques, with hands-on experience in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to medical software development, such as ISO 13485, IEC 62304, and FDA guidelines

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex technical concepts to non- technical stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a passion for patient safety & quality and a commitment to excellence
