Partnering with Product, Experience Design, Analytics, and business leaders across Wayfair, our Native App Engineering teams contribute to an award-winning mobile experience that makes shopping for your home delightful and engaging. iOS and Android engineers leverage the full capabilities of mobile devices and their SDKs. For example, our apps take advantage of augmented reality, computer vision-assisted product search using the device’s camera, and machine learning to create personalized experiences and improve the speed of the app.</p>

<p>The App Welcome team charter is to provide fast, reliable, scalable solutions of onboarding customers within the wayfair ecosystem, and provide the necessary platform services that will authenticate, notify, and differentiate their experiences based upon their needs.&nbsp; We are looking for a driven leader who is passionate about releasing high-quality software and platform services, and empowering our users to have an excellent shopping experience throughout our native apps.&nbsp; The ideal candidate has experience in native app development (iOS or Android), and a proven track record of managing stakeholders and external partners. This person will leverage their breadth of knowledge in these areas to lead and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering team that delivers features for Wayfair shoppers and platform services to our distributed engineering teams.</p>

<h3>What You'll Do</h3>

<ul>

<li>Lead development for in-depth mobile projects surrounding upper-funnel functionality such as homepage, sales, category, authentication, and landing experiences, including architecting and developing new features, application maintenance and refactoring, and increased performance and automation.</li>

<li>Review code and provide guidance for other developers participating in our release approval process.</li>

<li>Being passionate about test coverage and quality engineering are paramount.</li>

<li>Use data and metrics to collaboratively drive impactful changes.</li>

<li>Frequently interface and interact with quality, UX, back-end/API, product, analytics, and other teams.</li>

<li>Though primarily focused on Android, collaborate with iOS and full-stack teams to ensure solutions are robust and aligned.</li>

<li>Lead by example; share knowledge, experience, and best practices through mentoring, tech talks, and presentations.</li>

</ul>

<h3>What You'll Bring</h3>

<ul>

<li>At least 6+ years of professional Android development on publicly available apps.</li>

<li>A passion for writing clean, readable, and thoroughly tested code, and an eagerness to share your expertise with others.</li>

<li>A mastery of Android fundamentals, interacting with endpoints, debugging, and memory management.</li>

<li>Experience having architected or designed complex features with product managers or other stakeholders.</li>

<li>A deep understanding of architecture patterns such as MVP, MVVM, Clean/VIPER, etc., as well as async patterns.</li>

<li>A drive to learn about new libraries and technologies, stay on the cutting edge of the evolving mobile landscape and an eagerness to create experiences that will delight users.</li>

<li>A genuine belief that constructive and respectful code reviews are the bedrock of a healthy team.</li>

<li>Knowledge of Material Design, Android UI/UX development, and best practices</li>

<li>Experience with the following is nice to have:</li>

<ul>

<li>Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and GraphQL</li>

<li>Ruby or similar scripting languages</li>

<li>Working cross-platform with iOS and/or Full-Stack</li>
