Cisco Software Engineer | Devops Release Engineer, Python/Linux-CLI Tools/Build/Jenkins| 4-8 years in Bangalore, India

What You Will Do:

This is a role within Cisco's groundbreaking Data Center Networking team. You will participate in projects involving development of platform independent software for our next generation network operating systems for Cisco’s industry leading N9K family of switches.

Who You Will Work With:

You will work with a diverse group of some of the brightest problem solvers and thinkers in the Data Center Networking/Switching Team that work on next generation of Data Center & Cloud switches.

Who You Are:

NX team is looking for a strong and collaborative DevOps Release Engineer with 4-8 years experience with energy and passion in the DevOps. You'll be a key player in a team who is responsible for managing all aspects of CI/CD infrastructure for multiple product lines across many engineering teams.

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in building code using Make or Bazel. Automation using python/bash. Proven record of developing automated solutions and ability to understand and maintain previously developed automation scripts

  • CI/CD: Strengthen and maintain monitoring and management of build and deployment processes. Design and engineer the DevOps CI/CD tooling in GitHub environment.

  • Teamwork: Proven track record to work in small, highly technical teams. Excellent verbal and communication skills.

  • Leadership: Skilled in facilitating and moderating productive discussions among diverse groups. Excellent time management, follow-through, and attention to detail.

  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Proven record of developing automated solutions and ability to understand and maintain previously developed automation scripts. Significant experience in root causing/troubleshooting/diagnosing in python/bash/Makefile/Bazel

  • Passion: Enthusiastic about improving the application CI/CD process. Increase engineering team’s productivity by enhancing builds, tooling, pipelines.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in Python is preferred and Bash, Shell, Linux CLI tools,

  • Experience in build systems using Make or Bazel.

  • Experience with Jenkins, Ansible, AirFlow etc.

  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

  • Certifications in Kubernetes, project management, or related fields is desirable

  • Proficient in automation and Infrastructure as Code.
