Amazon Software Development Engineer, Device OS in Bangalore, India

Description

This Job is for a most challenging, complex, high volume and large scale project having embedded development (Linux + C/C++). Having Multimedia experience (Audio, Video, Graphics) will be an added advantage.

Key job responsibilities

The Engineer in this job is expected to make the design (High level and Low level), own end to end (depth) for specific set of features while having breadth on rest of the features and provide technical guidance for the Junior members in the team.

A day in the life

The following are the day to day activities:

  1. Feature development

  2. Peer Code and design review

  3. Interact with internal and external stakeholders (Dev and QA) on clarifying the requirements, resolving the dependencies etc.

  4. Oncall rotation

About the team

Team is working on a most business critical, high visibility, large scale & high device volume project involving embedded development (Device side), Cloud development (AWS services, API, CDK, Pipelines, Container management) etc.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Bangalore, KA, IND

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • 3+ Years of working experience in embedded development with strong knowledge on Linux and C/C+- In depth knowledge and working experience on embedded OS

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience in embedded software/middleware development with strong experience in Linux + C/C++, strong on operating system fundamentals

  • Hands on experience on Multimedia stack (Audio, Video and Graphics)
