We are looking for: Senior Software Engineer - PHP

You’ll make a difference by:

  • Excellent knowledge of PHP 7+ Years OOP with 2+ years (intermediate) / 4+ years (senior) of experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of PHP MVC frameworks, ideally Laravel and/or CodeIgniter.

  • Excellent knowledge of HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript and jQuery.

  • Excellent knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

You’ll win us over by:

  • Experience and enthusiasm for working with legacy code.

  • Experience with code review process.

  • Understanding of testing – PHPUnit, Behat, Cypress.

  • Knowledgeable and keen to apply industry standards.

  • Experience with Docker or similar development tools.

  • Experience using version control, ideally GIT or AWS Code Commit.

  • Experience using Jira or similar systems.

Good to have:

  • Degree in Maths, Computer Science, or similar area.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with VueJS.

  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with asset compilation processes.

  • Previous experience with working with and optimising very large databases.

  • Previous experience working with financial/transactional data.

  • Ability to support with external audits if required (e.g., ISO27001).

  • Knowledge of MariaDB ColumnStore or alternative column-based database technologies.

  • Experience with monitoring and code-scanning tools (Sentry, SonarQube, Grafana, Nessus).
