Overview:

In this role the Principal Engineer (Electronic Systems, Advanced Structures) actively participate in NPI, redesign and sustenance activities of electronics used for Actuator applications.

Position: Principal Engineer (P4)

Primary Responsibilities: FPGA

  • Experience in design, analysis, testing and certification of electronic hardware products.

  • Hardware controller design using microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs.

  • Experience in designing digital circuits and standard protocols like SPI, SCI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, AFDX communication buses (incl. physical & protocol layer).

  • Define hardware and software/firmware configuration and integration methods for ASIC’s, FPGA’s, Processor\micro-controller’s peripherals features.

  • Experience on FPGA/ PLD design using VHDL and timing analysis

  • Experience with high speed digital & mixed signal designs

  • Experience in the designs with multiple clocks, constraining designs etc

  • Experience with signal integrity, design and analysis.

  • Board level and system level testing Experience.

  • Should have excellent troubleshooting skills on electrical/electronic systems to find root cause and resolve the issues.

  • Errata analysis and resolution

  • Handling single/multiple event effects

  • Component selection (MCU/DSP, clocks, ADC, DAC, Memory, Power rails, isolators, PHY etc.)

  • Hands on experience with Mentor graphics Schematics & Layout tools

  • Knowledge and experience on DO-254, EASA, FAA advisory circulars for certification of hardware and firmware. Experience in SOI audits for Aerospace products

  • The ability to train and mentor early-career engineers

  • Ability to generate and communicate requirements and specifications for vendors/customers to facilitate the quote and design of new hardware

  • Proficient in usage of DOORS/ Polarion ALM for requirements management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 11 to 13 years of Industry experience with experience in Systems/Electronics product development

  • BE/B-tech/MTech in Electronics/electrical discipline

  • Familiarity with RTCA DO-254 & 160 Certification standards.

  • Hands on experience with safety analysis for requirements, system architecture

  • Familiar working in lab environment using oscilloscopes, in circuit emulators

  • Strong problem solving and analytical capability.

  • Experience in leading team.
