Pratt & Whitney’s Controls & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development, certification and maintenance of aircraft engine control and diagnostic systems and software. The software department at the India Engineering Center (IEC)’s focus is on supporting and owning sections of the control and prognostic software development, test and certification activities. We are seeking highly motivated, team oriented, and results driven engineers to join the India Engineering Center’s Control and Diagnostic Systems organization. The software development follows both Agile and waterfall approaches. The qualified candidate will be responsible for:
Play a critical role in safety critical aerospace software development to DO-178B/C standards
Participate in software planning, estimating and tracking
Manage software artifacts change using configuration and change management tools
Decompose system level and customer requirements into software requirements and designs
Document traceability or rationale for derived requirements and designs Conduct iterative prototype testing of requirements and designs
Perform requirement and design reviews
Development of high level and low-level software verification artifacts including structural coverage analysis and gap closure
Create problem reports for all failed test cases and issues identified with the product
Support a conduct root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions for escapes or impactful turnbacks
Prepare software certification documents
Lead SOI activities with P&WA
Support program management, team, and customer status reviews when required
Participate in process and tool improvement initiatives
Additional responsibility of providing technical guidance, mentoring and managing a small team of engineers in her/his functional capacity
Education
BE in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, MS preferred
Experience/Qualifications
M inimum of 12 years of relevant experience in safety critical control system and software development.
Experience with Matlab/Simulink toolset for software design autocoding
Solid track record of achieving results in a technical role
Ability to work in a dynamic, high pressure and flexible engineering environment
Prior experience developing software in an Agile framework
Hands on experience in the development and troubleshooting of safety critical embedded software on target processors
Good working experience in C, Assembly, python
Familiarity with ARINC429, CAN bus communication protocols and the Ethernet communication stack
Knowledge of test hardware and benches
Excellent cross discipline communication skills
Familiarity with engine control and diagnostic system, and control logic design and test
