The Opportunity

Do you have expertise in PostgreSQL or Oracle databases, along with a deep understanding of relational and dimensional database theory? The DBA will be part of a collaborative and dedicated team that supports business applications and enterprise data needs at Nutanix. This team works closely with the ETL team for data ingestion and quality, and interacts with business users across the company. The team is focused on ensuring the availability, performance, and integrity of the company's databases, and plays a vital role in supporting the analytics and decision-making processes. The team values open communication, expertise sharing, and the continuous improvement of database administration practices.

Your Role

  • Administer and maintain highly available Database system

  • Support business users with their Enterprise data needs

  • Collaborate with ETL team for data ingestion and quality

  • Design, build, and configure PostgreSQL or Oracle databases on Linux

  • Manage and optimize performance, backup, and recovery

  • Implement high-availability solutions and database replication

  • Develop and optimize PL/PostgreSQL, triggers, and stored procedures

  • Ensure compliance with database server architecture and concepts

What You Will Bring

  • 6+ years of experience as a DBA

  • Experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle databases

  • Knowledge of relational and dimensional database theory

  • Hands-on experience with database administration, backup and recovery

  • Expertise in PL/PostgreSQL, triggers, materialized views, and stored procedures

  • Understanding of high-availability technologies

  • Working knowledge of Linux, Bash scripting, and Python

  • Strong communication skills
