Qualcomm AI Research is looking for world-class algorithm engineers in general domain of machine learning and more specifically deep learning for computer vision and image processing tasks. Active areas of research include object aware AI, image restoration RAW to RGB AI ISP tasks, data engineering, generative models and multi-modal fusion. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary talented team working on on-device generative AI optimization. Collaborate in a cross-functional environment spanning hardware, software and systems. Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related Engineering field with 8+ years of active experience in AI Research, Software & Systems Engineering and related work experience.

OR

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, or related Engineering field with 6+ years of active experience in AI Research, Software & Systems Engineering and related work experience.

OR

  • PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related Engineering field with 5+ years of active experience in AI Research, Software & Systems Engineering and related work experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior work experience with LLM, LVM and Control Nets implementations

  • Prior work experience with on-device AI optimizations

  • Exposure to hardware and systems architecture optimization for low power deep learning systems

Roles & Responsibilities

Expectation from your R&D work and responsibility for this position focuses are as below:

  • Develop and quickly iterate on innovative research ideas, and prototype and implement them in collaboration with other researchers and engineers.

  • · Stay abreast with latest SOTA and actively shaping the latest research in the field.

  • Stay passionate at execution.

  • Contribute to purposeful innovation.

  • Engage with leads and stakeholders across business units to translate research into business impact.

Specifics on Technical role

  • Proficient with AI frameworks and programming in python

  • Algorithms research and development in the area of Generative AI, LVM, LLM, Multi-modality, Low power vision sensing, object and vision based contextual understanding

  • Efficient inference algorithms research and development, e.g. batching, KV caching, efficient attentions, long context, speculative decoding

  • Advanced quantization algorithms research and development for complex generative models, e.g., gradient/non-gradient based optimization, equivalent/non-equivalent transformation, automatic mixed precision, hardware in loop

  • Model compression, lossy or lossless, structural and neural search

  • Hyper-parameter search optimizations

  • Model efficiency for efficient mapping to on-device

  • Split computing and heterogeneous architectures

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
