Job Description :

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The role is responsible for the design of projects related to packaging equipment and Bottling lines, blending, and supporting utilities, ensuring standardization of design across SC, adherence to good engineering standards and codes, and to ensure that the project/facility is designed in line with the best option for the business requirement. The role is also responsible for scouting out and validating new packaging technologies and upgradations for productivity and reliability of equipment.

Financial: Capex allocation for Packaging related projects : Rs. 40-50 Cr/annum

OPERATING NETWORK

Subordinate Role : Project Managers

Other Roles/Teams within the Function : Project Managers, Infra Design team, Utilities Design, Demand planner, Unit heads, Unit engineers, EHS, QA, Manex, TC, BCC, Global engg.

TYPICAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualification:

• B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

Experience:

• 12-15 years experience in Engineering projects and 3-4 years of experience in Bottling/packaging lines through projects/maintenance

Knowledge & skills:

• Knowledge of liquid packaging and blending

• Experience in AutoCAD

• Experience in engineering design

• Good analytical skills

• Works well in a team

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1 . Leadership

• Lead the design of manufacturing facility and equipment specification as suited for the project

• Responsible for ensuring that leading industry practices are followed to generate state of the art engineering designs in the involved projects

2 . Functional

• Ensure that all the packaging and blending equipment designs are as per good engineering standards and compliant to EHS standards of USL

• Explore new technologies to develop subject matter expertise in bottling design and advise on possible implementation into our facilities. Also to adapt and develop Frugal technologies in all the packaging lines.

• Ensure there is standardization in the design across sites for the packaging / blending in new projects

• Analyze the allocations of various brands, SKUs, and supply management to work out the optimum solution balancing all capacities for the proposed project

3 . Design & Planning

• Work with the concerned Project Manager to provide the design and specifications for the project

• Work with Demand team and the Project manager and balance out the capacities and recommend based on the brand, SKU requirement

• Assist in preparing the business case & Capital investment requests for other projects as per requirement

4 Final commissioning

• Accountable for the output delivery of the equipment / project by assisting in the final commissioning and demonstration of the deliverables along with the Project Manager. Ensure all the validation Protocols- IQ/OQ/PQ are well adhered and delivered as per plan.
