About us:

We are driving the transformation of our HP Ecommerce data ecosystem to optimize our Sales priorities, Marketing spend & Pricing and deliver critical business intelligence. We are working with the leading platform providers (Databricks, AWS e.g.) to aggregate, sanitize and enable information to flow in support of a Self Service design.

The team has a worldwide impact with members located across multiple geographies. You will be leading a team of data engineers, who are responsible for bringing any data requested by the teams of data scientists into this data lake and you will make sure that those assets are properly built (data architecture, efficient ETL processing, scalability, business continuity), documented, and evangelized to a broad audience of users.

Key responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct and ongoing leadership for an organization of multiple individual contributors designing and developing engineering solutions and managing projects utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions.

  • Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects and programs, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated, and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.

  • Engages with program managers, marketing, supply chain, technical leaders and executives to communicate program status, escalate issues, and guide and influence strategic decision-making,

  • Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions opportunities.Leads one or more project teams of other data engineers for all stages of design and development for complex, secure and performant data solutions and models, including design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration of structured/unstructured data.

  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with architecture, security and quality guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.

  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the big data space.

  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using MS SQL/SSIS and Big Data technologies.

  • Develop technical solutions in MS SQL and cloud based technologies and ensuring they are designed and built to be sustainable and robust.

  • Perform data modeling and prepare data in databases for use in various analytics tools and configurate and develop data pipelines to move and optimize data assets.

  • Provide necessary technical support through all phases of solution life cycle.

  • Provides overall people-care management for direct reports, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; drives and fosters organization-wide performance standards, expectations, and practices to support ongoing team member and process development.

  • Manage large amount of production level / business critical data pipelines across multiple platforms/systems.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Advanced leadership skills, including coaching, teambuilding, conflictresolution, and management.

  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , AWS

  • Basic knowledge/experience with big data tools: Azure, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, etc.

  • Fluent in NoSQL & relational based systems, S3, Spark, python, R, data partitioning, MS SQL.

  • Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.

  • Extensive experience with data engineering tools, languages, frameworks to mine, cleanse and explore data.

  • Strong understanding of eCommerce business value creation by leveraging disparate data sourcing and enabling business decisions.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Experienced in managing human capital across geographies to drive workforce development and achieve desired results.

  • Advanced communication skills catered to a wide variety of audiences.(e.g. written, verbal, presentation); mastery in English and local language.

  • Superior business acumen, technical knowledge, and industry experience encompassing one or more engineering, technology, and product domains.

  • Advanced multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

  • Advanced relationship management skills, including partnering and consulting.

  • Strong understanding of HP's policies and processes.

Requirements :

  • Typically, 10+ years of relevant experience;

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering;

  • Experience directly leading and developing a team;

  • Familiar with Agile Project Management;

  • In-depth understanding of technology in direct responsibility with ability to take the lead or assist with any coding, coding review and deployment

  • Deep understanding of Spark

  • Experience working in a big data environment is required

  • SQL proficiency

  • Deep experience of ETL activities design, implementation and deployment

  • Experience with Cloud environment

  • Provides highly innovative solutions. Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams.

  • Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees.

Education & Experience:

  • First level university degree or equivalent experience required.Advanced university degree preferred.

  • Typically 15+ or more years of related work experience, including 3 or more years of people management experience.
