We are looking for a Deputy Project Manager (System Management) - Railway Infrastructure meeting the need for smart-mobility solutions.

You’ll make a difference by

  • Design, develop and manage customer projects according to defined project management (PM) standards, customer requirements, consortium agrreements and with responsibilities for economic results.

  • Consults with customer for technical solutions together with Responsible Business Manager or Key Account Manager.

  • Coordinates overall planning of the project and decides on allocation of resources.

  • Clarifies specifications and continuously liaison with accountable Delivery Managers.

  • Monitor’s milestone and adherence to budgets and initiates actions to minimize non-conformance cost.

  • Maintains constant communication to customer, contractors, or other stakeholders.

  • Adherence to PM standards and Business Conduct Guidelines.

  • Manage and coordinate all temporary assigned project staff.

  • Develop and guide the project team members to enable high performance.

  • Look for new business opportunities with customer along-with project execution.

  • Coordinate of all aspects in the project and provision of support to the sub-project manager / Delivery Manager

  • Execute the Project’s work packages based on the detailed design, schedule and documents as specified in contract.

  • Ensuring economic success and customer satisfaction for identified packages.

  • Representation of the project in all decision-making bodies as required time to time.

  • Representing Siemens at site in front of customer representatives, EIG, statutory bodies and interface partners.

  • Managing contractual claims and variation orders with support of project contracts manager

  • Coordinate the technical tasks within the project with Engineering team.

  • Lead the discussions with customer on engineering topics along with delivery manager and engineering team.

  • Ascertain the technical requirements of the contract and execute the requirement engineering for the project.

  • Responsible to ensure requirement fulfillment of the project and its periodic entry in DOORS (requirement management tool) by Delivery Managers and RMip

  • Resource Management - Coordinate with the discipline managers in line organizations for support and provision of resources/Engage required resources for the project/Ensure proper utilization of resources.

  • Coordination with Procurement

  • Participation in negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers together with SCM etc.

  • Along with Project Operations Manager, ensure drawing availability, coordination with factory for manufacturing, FAT logistics etc. for material/equipment procurement.

  • Derivation of the comprehensive project objectives from the contract and offer documents.

  • Ensuring compliance with defined procedures/processes for project controlling and reporting at global and local levels

  • Analyze and monitor the planned financial, technical and time-related targets; check the quality of the process and results

  • Identify any non-conformities in good time, identify the cause of problems and resolve them

  • Ensuring that the project goals (Cost, Quality, Time, EHS, Stakeholder Satisfaction) defined with the customer and all project participants are achieved.

  • Conducting Lessons Learned workshop in periodic intervals and conclusion of the project.

  • Comply with the Siemens Business Conduct Guidelines (e.g. occupational health and safety and environmental protection)

  • Interface Management - Coordinate the corresponding internal interfaces with the respective partners in departments of development, project execution, test center and with other internal partners

  • Coordinate the corresponding external interfaces with assessors, onshore partners (regional unit, customer, installation companies, etc.) and other external partners

  • Involve interface partners in good time to escalate issues relating to quality defects, missed deadlines etc.

  • Independently develop and implement solutions in case of problems with interface partners (in consent with the technical project manager)

Desired Skills:

  • You should have minimum experience of 10-12 years with bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering Domain

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to coordinate with cross functional teams

  • Ability to work in complex environment and handle unstructured business problems independently
