About the role: Amazon's Finance Operations, Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) team is a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment and delivering great experiences for our customers is top priority. FOAA is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to support automation of manual activities and reconciliations.

Amazon is seeking an exceptional BI Engineer to join the Innovation and Automation(I&A) team within FOAA organisation. The person in this position will play a key role in supporting the development of tools and reports used by the FOAA analysts.

The engineer will own BI support for FOAA by leading the creation of automated solutions to complex business problems. This person will help develop analytical solutions and leverage our optimized and scalable datasets, with opportunities to utilize emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building tools that provide unique insights to leaders of FOAA.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

· Work with our customers to understand their needs and design reporting solutions that will exceed expectations

· Develop flexible and scalable solutions using new technologies

· Automate existing processes where needed

· Debug report issues, unblock workflows and Communicate with other teams and customers to provide status updates

. Work effectively with cross-functional teams and in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Tools used include:

  1. SQL (Oracle and Redshift)

  2. ETL tools (internal)

  3. Excel

  4. Tableau

  5. Report scheduling tools (internal)

  6. Python

The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and driven to provide insightful and timely information to customers. The candidate should have strong communication skills and ability to prioritize effectively to ensure timelines are met. There is always room to make things better so this candidate should also have the ability to invent and simplify.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience building and maintaining basic data artifacts (e.g., ETL, data models, queries)

  • Experience with scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R)

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, or a related quantitative field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying basic statistical methods (e.g. regression) to difficult business problems
