ROLE SUMMARY / PURPOSE

The Mechanical Engineer for Enclosure & Accessories Systems will work on design and development of Heavy-duty Gas Turbine (GT) Enclosure, Ventilation and Accessories systems. This role will work on new development, requisition delivery and site issues support. Enclosure requisition execution for all stages of the life cycle of the product starting from ITO to field issue resolution.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver on requisition of new unit projects.

  • NPI deliverables & other key activities related to Enclosure & Accessories Systems.

  • Generate documentation including equipment arrangement drawings, layouts, piping and instrumentation diagrams and datasheets.

  • Use & develop expertise in Structural design and proficiency in using tools to develop and validate the designs.

  • Develop innovative ways to simplify design & processes & develop a cost-effective products & drive positive project margins.

  • Interact and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as manufacturing, sourcing, services, global engineering, advanced technologies, gas turbine & systems engineering.

  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

  • Resolving Issues such as Non-Conformance, Supplier Deviation, and Request For Information.

  • Document design work clearly and meticulously.

  • Prioritize and plan the tasks to efficiently manage and deliver thereby also meeting On Time Delivery (Schedule) and First Pass Yield (Quality)

  • Understand Gas Turbine design and the various products in the portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / Structural Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in steam/gas/nuclear power plant

  • Minimum 3+ Years of experience in Design and Detail Engineering

  • Basic knowledge on Power plant components and its functioning.

  • Good Knowledge of GD&T and welding standards (AWS preferred)

  • Problem solving skills.

  • Ability to work with Cross Functional teams.

  • Good Communication Skills

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

  • Ability to effectively present information to project and functional management and to customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Ability to synthesize information from different engineering disciplines.

TOOL SKILLS REQUIRED

  • UG NX, Aveva P&ID, AutoCAD, PLM Tools (Enovia / Teamcenter), MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
