Health Advocates Network is seeking a Student Life Counselor to work at a Facility in Baltimore, MD. This is a registry position with our company.

Pay Rate: $20 / hour

Shifts Details:

  • Monday through Friday 11pm-8am

Job Description:

The Student Life Counselor is responsible for ensuring a secure and supportive environment during overnight hours for students. This role involves supervising and monitoring students in the morning before the start of the school day, handling emergencies, and addressing student issues. The Student Life Counselor works from 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Sunday through Friday.

Responsibilities:

  1. Student Care:
  • Build trust and relationships with students

  • Advocate for students' well-being

  • Provide emotional support and guidance

  • Assist students with personal problems and relationships

  • Maintain student dignity and self-esteem

  • Support students' development through appropriate freedoms and responsibilities

  • Ensure student safety and well-being throughout the night

  • Attend to students' health and mental care needs

  • Teach students healthy lifestyles and appropriate behaviors

  • Implement a behavior management system

  1. Facility Management:
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in the residence hall

  • Conduct house inspections regularly

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures

  • Prepare reports and nightly snacks

  1. Program Development:
  • Implement chore programs and morning routines for students
  1. Professional Development:
  • Stay updated on parenting skills and student development

  • Set and achieve professional development goals

  • Evaluate performance in collaboration with supervisors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in social sciences or related field

  • Minimum of one year experience in adolescent development or counseling

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and internet savvy

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and maintain confidentiality

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
