Johns Hopkins University Sr. Research Program Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland

The Division of Transplant Surgery and the Department of Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases Transplant Research Center (TRC) is seeking a bright, hardworking, and experienced Sr. Research Program Coordinator. Our research focuses on solid organ transplantation and in particular novel transplantation practices such as organ donation from donors with HIV and hepatitis C. We are also studying COVID-19 in the transplant recipient population. The position requires the ability to multitask activities for several clinical research studies, extract complex clinical data from medical records, apply GCP regulatory methods, conduct research study visits, and process clinical samples.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide for the daily operations, study visits, sample collection, data entry, and query resolution for multiple clinical research studies and trials.

  • Support numerous, diverse medical chart data extraction studies and educate others in the collection, organization, and analysis of clinical data for publication and grant and proposal preparation.

  • Collaborate with research team on scientific implementation, daily operation, and data management of interventional clinical trials.

  • Conduct study subject visits.

  • Provide for the acquisition and processing of clinical samples from study subjects.

  • Develop tools for study implementation including web-based case report forms, standardized order sets, investigator-initiated protocols and consent forms.

  • Under the direction of physician principal investigators, determine patient study eligibility, obtain informed consent, and initiate patient randomization and enrollment.

  • Act as a liaison for various studies with sponsors, study monitors, patients and their primary care providers.

  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and regulatory policy for the Center.

  • Provide backup support for the program regarding patient scheduling.

  • Occasional on-call required for night and weekend program activities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Meticulous record-keeping.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.

  • Three years of related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

  • Required work schedule for the first 4 months of employment is 5 days per week on-site, after which a hybrid schedule may be discussed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires significant mobility, and ability to walk back and forth between university, lab, and hospital.

  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds overhead and pick up and carry objects up to 15 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hospital clinical research with transplant/oncology populations.

  • Phlebotomy and CCRC certifications.

Starting Salary Range: $40,900 - $71,600 Annually ($56,250 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
