Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service Sr. Employer Development Consultant in Baltimore, Maryland

Reporting to the Director for Employment Services, the Sr. Consultant will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operations of New American Careers, identifying skilled candidates, conducting outreach to organizations to match candidates with job opportunities, identifying resources to provide training, and assisting with compliance with local, state and federal laws.

New American Careers is a new subsidiary of Global Refuge, formerly known as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. This entrepreneurial recruiting firm will match New Americans with positions at our employer partners. Additionally, we will offer training, career pathing, and strategic partnerships meant to give new Americans an opportunity to restart their careers here in the United States. DUTIES

  • Work with the CEO, Director, and other leadership to establish processes, define targets, and effectively run the employment agency.

  • Assist with identifying industries and businesses to develop employment opportunities and promote the hiring of clients.

  • Produce new employment opportunities consistent with New American Careers goals.

  • Fill open positions collaboratively with the recruiting team.

  • Meet target activity and placement goals on a monthly basis.

  • Conduct outreach meetings and presentations to companies.

  • Conduct outreach, presentations, and training to client candidates.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with affiliates and partners consisting of other non-profits that focus on providing services to the refugee or immigrant communities.

  • Assist with ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

  • Assist with identifying new opportunities for growth and investment that are aligned with New American Careers' mission.

  • Assist with implementing job training, development, and coaching opportunities to prepare clients for success in interviews and on the job.

  • Work with the Director to establish metrics and report on them regularly.

  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field and a minimum of 4 years of experience within the staffing or employment industry, at least 2 of which should have been in a leadership role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Detailed understanding of staffing agency operations, systems, and structures.

  • Demonstrated success with new client development

  • Experience working a "full desk" in a staffing industry environment.

  • Experience working with the immigrant community, or a culturally diverse group desired.

  • Fluent in Spanish is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Track record of delivering results in a metrics-driven environment.

  • Ability to thrive in a hybrid work model including onsite and remote.

  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage technology to identify candidates and employer clients.
