About Us: The Baltimore Academy has established itself as a premier provider of Full Day Special Education services for students in grades 6 through 12. The 12 month school program serves male and female adolescents ages 12 through 21 who are exhibiting serious emotional and behavior disorders and who are not yet able to function in less restrictive school settings. We are looking for a full-time Special Education Teacher in our school. Will need to be able to teach middle and high school Science. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Under the supervision of the Director of Education, Special Education Teachers implement individual education plans for each student. • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of our curriculum and an understanding of Maryland State-wide learning outcome goals. • Teachers must also maintain an appropriate level of behavior management skills within the scope of the school-wide Behavior Management Program. • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree required Must be certified in special education or eligible for certification in the state of Maryland.
