Johns Hopkins University Research Specialist in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a Research Specialist. Our laboratory studies the biochemical and adaptive signaling responses to small molecule inhibition of RAF and MEK kinases with a specific focus on pediatric solid tumors.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs experiments using cell culture, animal, and molecular biology techniques.

  • Participates in developing experimental designs, plans/implements experiments, and evaluates and interprets results.

  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets research data using various computer software applications.

  • Conducts literature research, and participates in editing and preparing manuscripts, scientific illustrations, and computer graphics for publication.

  • Trains new employees and supervises them in the performance of their duties.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.

  • One year laboratory experience performing relevant techniques.

  • Master's degree, with related graduate research, may substitute for experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Starting Salary Range: $16.92 - $29.61 HRLY ($23.27/hr. targeted; Commensurate with experience)
