Johns Hopkins University Research Program Assistant in Baltimore, Maryland

The Division of Transplant Surgery and the Department of Medicine's Division of Infectious Diseases Transplant Research Center (TRC) is looking for two casual Research Program Assistants for the summer months. The responsibilities of the Research Program Assistant are to focus on administrative and regulatory requirements of assigned studies and provide operational support for the program. This position requires tremendous attention to detail, maintenance of regulatory processes, research subject contact, and miscellaneous administrative responsibilities. Required work schedule is a minimum of 19 hours/week.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily operations, study visits, sample collection, data entry, and query resolution for multiple clinical research studies and grants.

  • Assist the lead coordinating supervisor and program manager in various administrative responsibilities such as study visit and lab kit creation.

  • Prepare agendas, takes and distributes meeting minutes, updates meeting specific data tables, generates study specific reports utilizing REDCap database, and reports on study efforts at routinely scheduled research group meetings.

  • Contact participants by phone, as needed, to collect data and to schedule and confirm appointments, providing answers to participants in TOID/HOPE studies.

  • Provide miscellaneous administrative support for the Program with regard to keeping records, supply procurement, meeting scheduling, and subject and employee reimbursements.

  • Process clinical samples for storage and shipment including but not limited to pick-up from clinic location, centrifuging, pipetting, and cell isolation.

  • All other duties assigned.

  • Superlative organizational abilities.

  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team,

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite,

  • Meticulous record keeping.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.

  • Some related experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Physical Requirements

  • Position requires significant mobility, and the ability to easily walk back and forth between university, lab, and hospital.

  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds overhead and pick up and carry objects up to 15 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college courses preferred.

  • Some related research experience in research.

  • Health-related experience in a university/hospital setting.

Starting Salary Range: $15.25 - $23.00 HRLY ($19.13 HRLY targeted; Commensurate with experience)
