OVERVIEW

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing the market for Specialty Ingredients within the defined region. This position will concentrate on developing sales to new accounts and expanding business at existing accounts. This position also works closely with the Innovation Team on new products and applications.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage existing business within the region and develop plans to increase business through the addition of new accounts, new applications and new products.

  • Manage the brokers and distributors in the geographic area with the objective to grow the business.

  • Target new sales opportunities and develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all Specialty products.

  • Interacts with the Innovation Team to provide new products and applications to target accounts.

  • Maintain and develop strong relationships at accounts within purchasing, marketing and product development.

  • Coordinate appropriate company resources to ensure efficient and stable sales growth.

  • Understanding competition in the area – products, targets and strategies, and reporting relevant activities.

  • Negotiation of pricing and contracts and monitoring contract balances – communicating balances, managing delivery periods and communicating changes to customers and customer service.

  • Preparation of the annual budget, forecasts and required analysis.

  • Attending national and regional trade shows.

  • Timely submission of call reports detailing important information to the group.

  • Provide information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.

    WORK EXPERIENCES

  • 5-10 years direct sales preferred, but a minimum of 5 years in industrial food ingredients is required.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS or higher degree in sales and marketing, food science, business administration or a related field from an accredited college/university is required.

    LOCATION OF ROLE

  • This is a home remote role – preferred location is in the mid-Atlantic area.
