Kennedy Krieger Institute Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (International Center for Spinal Cord Injury)- $4000 Sign-On Bonus in Baltimore, Maryland

Kennedy Krieger Institute offers more than 55 outpatient clinics, home and community programs, education, research, pediatric neurobehavioral and rehabilitation/feeding inpatient units and a day hospital.

This position is 40 hours per week working with patients within the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury (ICSCI)

· $10,500/year tuition advancement/reimbursement for employees earning undergrad and graduate degrees (pro-rated for 16-39 hours/week)

Responsibilities

  • · Completing health assessments and documenting

  • · Triaging patient issues

  • · Handling emergency situations

  • · Answering/responding to calls

  • · Writing prescriptions and orders

  • · Completing forms for patients

  • · Be open, understanding, patient, and kind to every person who enters the clinic, regardless of age, sex, race, gender, religion, medical conditions, etc.

  • · Independent evaluation and management of children with spinal cord injury in outpatient clinic

  • · Thursday clinics alternates between Maple Lawn and White Marsh

  • · Independent evaluation for inpatients with SCI

  • · Weekly inpatient rounding

  • · Participate in inpatient steering meetings and discharge meetings

Qualifications

Education: Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty required.

Completion of a nurse practitioner program approved by the Maryland Board of Nursing required.

License: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license from Maryland and certification as a nurse practitioner required by the State of Maryland.

Must possess board certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from an approved organization by the Maryland State Board of Nursing, including the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
