Summary

As a Manager of Legal Talent Acquisition, you will be in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, creates and implements effective processes for recruiting and hiring talented experienced client-facing time-keepers.  

Location   

This position can be remote with occasional visits to the local office as needed. Candidates may be based in Northern Virginia, Tampa, Minneapolis, Dallas, Wilmington, Miami, Boston, Austin, Houston, Phoenix, Raleigh, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Baltimore, or Short Hills office.

  

Responsibilities

  • Connects with hiring manager to understand role requirements. Develops a sourcing strategy based on role requirements.

  • Assesses candidates through various processes based on skill set, experience, capabilities, and cultural match.

  • Develops recruitment related programs and initiatives. Designs, tests and oversees their successful implementation. Develops communication strategy.

  • Conducts candidate interviews and assesses candidates based on their performance in interviews.

  • Creates, manages and negotiates job offers with the selected candidates. If relevant, this includes negotiation of the job offers and agreement on terms to complete the hiring process. The process also includes managing cases where candidates decline, or the organization rescinds the job offer.

  • Manages new hire/rehire screening, which includes administration of background and/or reference checks for new hires/rehires and communicating due diligence outcomes.

  • Manages recruitment-related social media outreach.

  • Drafts correspondence related to legal hires; interviews, next steps, coordinates relocation, moving, bar exam and other expenses/disbursements with candidates. Works closely with responsible partner regarding extension of offers, follow-up, and office set-up and integration upon arrival.

  • Correspond and attend meetings with hiring manager and other stakeholders regarding candidate feedback, updates, and ongoing hiring strategy.

  • In collaboration with the Student Recruitment Manager, supports summer program, including budget, social and training calendar, assignment process, mentors, and readers. Collects and maintains work product and evaluations. Collaborates with Student Recruitment Manager, summer program chairs and local Hiring Partner to ensure success of each summer associate.

  • Monitors market trends and works with Director to keep Firm management apprised of trends in compensation, bonus and training and development areas.

  • Oversees recruitment administration - systems tracking/dispositioning, data entry, employee referral pay-outs, audits, etc.

  • Develops and manages job specific requisitions based on recruitment needs. This process includes advertising the positions on internal and external portals and the overall management of job requisitions, approvals, and the activities to initiate and close a requisition.

  • Organizes and executes recruiting activities and events.

  • Provides information and reports regarding recruitment to business and HR leadership team.

  • Manages and administers executive hiring, which includes sourcing candidates and partnering with vendors and sourcing channels to fulfil executive requisitions.

  • Develop, monitor and administer recruiting budget and resource allocation to fund the plan.

  • Attends staff meetings

  • Corresponds and attends meetings with hiring managers and other stakeholders regarding candidate feedback and updates.

  • Creates and governs short-term and long-term recruitment forecast plans in alignment with the strategic recruitment goals and business objectives.

  • Develops and maintains recruiting brand by creating exceptional candidate experience.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills   

Previous experience recruiting for technical positions, especially for developers/programmers is highly preferred; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; have general knowledge and understanding of US Visa process and requirements; must be creative and detail oriented; knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel; ability to handle difficult situations professionally and tactfully; ability to solve problems; ability to multi-task and manage projects; must be able to treat confidential information in a professional manner. May need to travel on occasion.

Minimum Education   

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 5 years’ recruiting experience in a law firm or legal/professional services environment.

Physical Demands   

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
