Student interns will support business operations in various areas including Engineering, Production, and/or Tool Room.

Responsibilities

Internship experiences will include one or more of the following:

  1. Assist in machine start-ups, color changes, and maintenance.

  2. Gain knowledge/ experience of tooling and high- speed production machines.

  3. Learn technology to improve product quality and productivity. This may include, PLC’s, vision system, drives, and robotics.

  4. Observe / assist in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic problems on production equipment that uses electro-mechanical relay logic of PLC controls plus hydraulic, pneumatic and related equipment.

  5. Work with technical team members on process optimization and tooling support. .

  6. Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and daily processing activities.

  7. May be involved with auxiliary equipment to support molding operation such as robots, pickers, closing machines, etc.

  8. Data entry, analysis and reporting on various operating metrics.

  9. Gain considerable safety training in adherence with OSHA requirements.

  10. Complete special projects.

  11. Support plant safety, quality, and productivity goals.

Qualifications

  1. High school student with coursework in related fields.

  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  3. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete tasks.

  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  5. Team player with excellent attendance, communication, and problem solving skills.

  6. Must perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.

  7. Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
