Johns Hopkins University Grants & Contracts Analyst in Baltimore, Maryland

The Department of Environmental Health and Engineering is seeking a Grants & Contracts Analyst who will manage financial and administrative activities involving sponsored federal, non-federal/private grants, contracts, and agreements for assigned faculty. Primary duties include support with grants and proposal preparation, submission, budget development including narrative and financial aspects of grants management. This position will report to the Assistant Administrator.

Environmental Health and Engineering is a unique department that sits within Bloomberg School of Public Health and Whiting School of Engineering. This position will have the opportunity to learn about the processes of two schools within JHU.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with and act as final point of contact with departmental faculty and/or budgetary staff and the Office of Research Administration (JHURA) toward the planning and development of application submissions to various federal offices, private agencies/foundations and commercial companies.

  • Understand and utilize institutional policies for pre-award grant process and sponsor guidelines.

  • Submit and review all grant proposals for assigned faculty. Review involves checking for accuracy, content, and adherence to all relevant guidelines.

  • Responsible for the timely preparation of proposal budget for Principal Investigator (PI) review.

  • Review budgets and related justification for appropriateness and completeness of content. Ensure that applicable indirect costs have been applied.

  • Manage all assigned grant submissions to ensure timeliness and accuracy.

  • Manages pending Other Support for faculty.

  • Keep up to date on changing policy in regard to pre-award.

  • Provide training and updates to EHE Business Office on pre-award changes.

  • Assist with contract and grant closeouts such as following up with progress reports, invention reports, financial status reports, and specific documents related to training grants i.e., statement of appointments, payback agreements, and terminations.

  • Provide backup coverage to other Grants and Contracts Analyst.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Two years of administrative/budgeting experience.

  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Role/Level/Range: ATP/03/PC

Starting Salary Range: $53,300 - $93,500 Annually ($68,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
