Summary

The FP&A Analyst will play a critical role in supporting our financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making processes. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of financial concepts and metrics. The purpose of this position is to provide informative analysis and reporting packages to business leaders at all levels of the firm in order to inform decision making, safeguard profitability, and support the long-term growth goals of the firm.

Location

This position is located in our Reston, Washington D.C., or Baltimore offices and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Forecasting:

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support short-term and long-term forecasting.

  • Analyze historical financial data and identify trends to inform future projections.

  • Collaborate with various departments to gather relevant data for accurate forecasting.

  • Prepare and present detailed financial forecasts to senior management.

Budgeting:

  • Assist in the annual budgeting process, including creating budget templates and coordinating with department heads.

  • Monitor actual performance against budget and analyze variances.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to improve budget accuracy and efficiency.

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Conduct variance analysis to explain differences between actual results and forecasts/budgets.

  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess business performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Support ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests as needed.

Strategic Support:

  • Work closely with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

  • Analyze potential business opportunities, mergers, acquisitions, and investments.

  • Develop financial models to assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.

  • Implement best practices in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

  • Utilize financial software and tools to enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar field.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • 2 years' experience in a law firm, professional services firm or blue-chip organization with a focus on expense management and/or financial planning.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $73,853 - $102,517 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.

The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
