Fire Alarm Service Technician

Department: Service

Location: Baltimore, MD

Summary: The Service Technician is responsible for servicing fire/security, card access, door entry, paging/sound and other electronic systems. We are offering up to a $3,000 signing bonus for qualified candidates.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs diagnosis and troubleshooting as required on fire/security, card access, door entry, paging/sound and other electronic systems.

  • Communicates with ARK team members to effectively pursue company goals of servicing systems according to acceptable standards and practices.

  • Communicates with customer concerning the importance, operation and status of their life safety system.

  • Operating/maintaining company vehicle.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • NICET certifications a plus, but not required

  • Installation experience and prior construction experience a plus.

  • Diagnosis and Troubleshooting skills of commercial low voltage systems

  • Must have a positive and respectful attitude to maintain good working relationships with management staff, employees, vendors and customers.

  • Competent computer skills

    Education and Experience:

  • AA degree in electronics preferred, but not required or equivalent technical/Military school supplemented with 3-5 years of related industry experience is a plus.

  • Field electrical and/or electronic practical experience required.

  • Valid driver-s license

  • Able to obtain Maryland and Virginia security technician license as required. Paid for by ARK.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Physically able to climb overhead or crawl under spaces to complete jobs

  • Must be willing to work at heights

  • Must be able to operate electrical tools and a company vehicle

  • Must be able to differentiate color coding of cables

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times
