Kennedy Krieger Institute Education Assistant (Neurobehavioral Unit) - $2500 Hiring Incentive in Baltimore, Maryland

Overview

The Education Assistant’s responsibility will include assisting the educational coordinators in the development, implementation and monitoring of educational activities that includes academics, vocational, daily living, social, leisure, recreational and other adaptive skills as needed for the patients on the Neurobehavioral Unit (NBU).

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the data collection and monitoring of patient progress.

  2. Assist the educational coordinators in the development of appropriate individualized materials for teaching adaptive skills to the patients.

  3. Assist in designing and implementation of individual patient programs that are based on goals and objectives of the IEP.

  4. Attend meetings and other appropriate seminars, in services, etc., that impact on patient outcomes.

  5. Teach, train and provide feedback to clinical assistants on the implementation of educational objectives.

  6. Assist the behavioral team with materials, information, etc., about patient educational programming.

  7. Assist in keeping the educational environment, materials, curriculum and equipment functional and organized.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent is minimally required. Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

One year of previous experience providing educational/recreational and/or behavioral services to children with developmental disabilities is required.
