CareFirst Digital Content Consultant (Hybrid) in Baltimore, Maryland

Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE:

This position leads the management of web environment design, deployment, development and maintenance activities; perform testing and quality assurance of web sites and web applications; focuses on digital content development and management, look and feel, and the user experience; works closely with staff and management throughout the organization to ensure that project teams' web-based communications goals are clearly defined and met; leads overall site content strategy, governance and experience. This role also delivers corporate communications that keep the target audience engaged and informed using a strategic mix of communications channels. This role has an internal communications focus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manages end-to-end digital design, development, publishing and distribution of communicationsfrom concept to launch. Leads keeping corporate websites and other digital assets current and consistent with best practices, within the industry and across other industries. Provides strategic design solutions based on web usability researched-based results to meet corporate, marketing and SBU goals. Identifies best practices for featuring specific content on websites, increasing call-to-action click-through rates, driving users through goal-oriented tasks and encouraging more members to log in to their account. Determines current and best practice approach to web and digital communications to optimize the site user experience. Identifies the latest digital innovations for content access and digestion (including the integration of multimedia such as videos, infographics and other digital tools) to enhance the web experience while making the websites accessible.

  • Ensures data and analytics are prioritized for all digital content and leverages it to inform strategy and make business decisions. Oversees the analytics implementation for internal campaign efforts, to ensure business tracking requirements are identified, communicated to integration teams, implemented and tested. Analyzes and interprets web analytics and reviews web goals to determine the best approaches for optimizing the customer experience. Leads analysis to increase engagement and better user experience on the websites, emails and other digital projects.

  • Works with website developers and editorial content contributors to meet business needs and requirements, while also identifying new opportunities. Maintains and advances internet and intranet web content and integrated applications. Proven ability to copy edit and ensure writing is consistent with the corporate style guide, and in compliance with legal and branding regulations.

  • Drives the development and implementation of a communication strategy across various audiences and channels. Works closely with business divisions to understand opportunities and priorities to provide strategic oversight and direction of various communications need which may be anticipated or unplanned. Performs other content maintenance tasks, including running link checkers, assist with the development of SOPs and training materials.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree OR In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Experience: 8 years experience in web content management with progressively responsible web project management experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects while keeping content owners informed of the progress of their general web edits and aware of any potential problems.

  • Ability to think globally and understand how content edits on one area of any particular web property may impact other areas of and/or related websites.

  • Ability to communicate challenges in a non-technical manner to internal content/business owners is important.

  • Proficiency with web content management systems (TeamSite, SharePoint, etc.).

  • Proficiency with web usability methodology and standards.

  • Expertise with web development software and coding (i.e. Dreamweaver, Adobe Professional, HTML, CSS, etc.)

  • Experience with managing digital media, including web-based video, audio files.

  • Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time. Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging. Salary Range: $74,736 - $148,434
