Johns Hopkins University CO Ophthalmic Photographer in Baltimore, Maryland

We are seeking a CO Ophthalmic Photographer who will provide clinical, and research related diagnostic medical images that are used by ophthalmic personnel in managing patients with various ocular conditions. Uses multiple camera/imaging systems to capture the required data. Cross trains to support physicians in clinic for patient workups and diagnostic testing.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proficiently performs the following specialized tasks-

  • Color retinal fundus photography.

  • Retinal fluorescein angiography.

  • ICG angiography.

  • Slit lamp photography.

  • Intravenous injection of sodium fluorescein and Indocyanine Green dyes.

  • Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT).

  • Ocular Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCT-A).

  • Works in external clinics and operating rooms as needed.

  • Works independently at Wilmer satellite locations.

  • Provides front desk coverage when needed.

  • Uses specular microscopy.

  • Manages digital images and files, i.e. burning CD’s, electronic transfer, etc.

  • Maintains CPR certification.

  • Participates in research related investigative studies requiring protocol specific imaging.

  • Acquires and maintains photographic certifications from various ophthalmic reading centers participating in clinical research.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience.

  • Prior experience with imaging or providing technician support in a clinical office setting. Proven advanced computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a clinical ophthalmology setting preferred but not required.
