Job Information

Aerotek CNC Machinist in Baltimore, Maryland

Description:

  • Medium sized manufacturing company in Baltimore. You will be working at the location and also going to customer sites. Must be willing to travel across the country after training period ends.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines

  • Use various equipment and machinery including lathes, milling machines, grinder, and more

  • Minimize downtime and errors in parts production

  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions

  • Use machine shop tools

  • Some programming of CNC machines

Skills:

  • Electrical troubleshooting and servicing

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and servicing

  • Preventative maintenance

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to edit and troubleshoot programs using G-code

  • Ability to read drawings, schematics, and/or sketches

  • Good understanding of all machine shop principles

  • Thorough knowledge of cutting tools such as end mills, boring bars, drills, taps, slitting saws, and turning tools/inserts

  • Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes and CNC machining centers

  • Proficient with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, indicators, etc.

  • Sound basic math skills including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

  • Ability to set up and operate a full range of machines and equipment in accordance with safety protocols

  • Proficiency in use of CAD/CAM software

  • Having your own tools is preferred

Experience Level:

  • Intermediate Level
