Job Summary: The Dental Assistant (2 positions available) will play a crucial role in our dental team, providing essential support to ensure the smooth flow of dental procedures and the overall well-being of our patients. This role encompasses a wide range of clinical and administrative tasks, including chair-side assisting, expanded functions, dental infection control procedures, dental laboratory procedures, patient and community education, and additional functions as applicable. The Dental Assistant should have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Dental Assisting program or equivalent certification, state registration as a Dental Assistant (RDA), and expanded functions certification per state regulations. Proficiency in dental software and digital radiography systems, strong communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of dental office procedures and infection control protocols, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to patient care and comfort are also required. CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities: - Assist the dentist in providing dental treatment with a focus on patient comfort and safety. - Prepare, arrange, and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures. - Collect and accurately record patient health histories and vital signs. - Manage patient comfort and communication during dental procedures. - Facilitate efficient instrument transfer during treatments. - Employ effective dental procedure isolation techniques. - Prepare dental materials, including cements, composite, and impression materials. - Maintain accurate dental charting records. - Be proficient in the prevention and management of dental medical emergencies. - Maintain inventory control and management of dental supplies and materials. - Take dental X-rays in compliance with all applicable regulations. - Apply topical fluoride treatments. - Place topical medications as prescribed by the dentist. - Manage and implement the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA, CDC, and ADA standards. - Ensure proper cleaning, sterilization/disinfection, and re-circulation of instruments. - Perform dental treatment room disinfection. - Pour impressions to create stone and plaster models. - Trim models accurately. - Fabricate mouth guards, temporary crowns, and custom impression trays. - Prepare casting models and dies. - Fabricate orthodontic retainers and other appliances as needed. - Deliver personalized oral care instructions to patients. - Conduct community dental health presentations. - Plan and set up health fair booths to promote oral health. - Perform additional functions as applicable, such as taking impressions for study models, applying sealants, placing cavity bases and liners, placing and removing rubber dams, cementing temporary restorations, performing various orthodontic procedures, administering dentin desensitizing solutions, performing periodontal screenings and probing, applying topical anesthetics and fluoride, exposing radiographs, writing laboratory work orders and prescriptions, performing various orthodontic tasks under the dentist's direction, monitoring patients under nitrous oxide, providing oral hygiene instruction, polishing the coronal portion of teeth, placing amalgam in preparations with a carrier, taking pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, and inserting various orthodontic devices and performing related adjustments.

Salary Range: - 0-2 years of experience $20/hr-$22/hr - 3-5 years of experience $22/hr-$24/hr
