Overview

TheBusiness Intelligence Developer (BID) will analyze, provide specifications for, and write individual reports and data extracts for various applications across the organization. BIDs are responsible for validating model/foundation reports and identifying advanced reporting needs for the organization. The BID will create technical specifications and outputs for new requests and build using the appropriate methodology in the business intelligence stack.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop complex SQL queries against various data models. Collaboratewith the Business Intelligence Analyst to apply these solutions within the Radar framework and Tableau tool to deliver metrics and metric drill through for end users.

  2. Validate Foundation System reports and identify advanced analytics needs with report

  3. Determine data needs through collaboration with application analysts and requestors to understand their data needs.

  4. Create design specifications for new reports.

  5. Identify and validate appropriate technological solutions for various reporting needs.

  6. Create new reports using a third-party report writing tool (such as Crystal reports). Modify existing reports as necessary.

  7. Distribute Clarity reports to report consumers using Epic-Crystal integration or BOE LaunchPad.

  8. Review peer reports for validity.

  9. Test report build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments.

  10. Review upgrade documentation related to Clarity and Caboodle features and released Crystal reporting content and determine how to implement the changes.

  11. BIDs are also responsible for building including but not limited to Universes, SSAS Cubes, extracts, SlicerDicer, and reports to query the Caboodle Data Warehouse

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Epic certification in all applications in their area and other related areas within 3 months of training.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, math or information systems required.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Five or more years of applicable experience required, to include at least one year of experience writing and troubleshooting SQL queries
