University of Maryland, Baltimore Assistant/Associate Professor (Health Equity) in Baltimore, Maryland

The University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) is currently recruiting for two full-timeAssistant/Associate Professorswho has a promising program of research or community engaged program implementation and evaluation that aligns with our Center for Health Equity and Outcomes Research (CHEOR) organized research center as well the ability to teach health equity/community engagement and methods courses and mentor students in our doctoral programs. Specific areas of research priorities include health disparities/health equity from a variety of perspectives at any level of the aging continuum and with a system thinking and team science approach. Experience working with modern regression approaches, advanced survey methods, and/or large data sets to address these priorities are of particular interest. UMSON enrolls more than 2,000 students in its baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral programs. UMSON is part of the University of Maryland, graduate professional campus that also includes the schools of medicine, dentistry, law, pharmacy, and social work. Its interdisciplinary graduate school has more than 40 programs in biosciences, law, and social work, and is one of the fastest growing biomedical research centers in the nation. The unique composition of the campus enables health professionals to address clinical care, public policy, and social issues through multidisciplinary research, scholarship, and community action. Its location in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C.-Annapolis triangle maximizes opportunities for collaboration with government agencies, health care institutions, and life science industries. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Engage in a program of research, including securing external funding to support health equity research and or program implementation and evaluation. • Advise and mentor PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty. • Teach in area of expertise. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary research teams. • Participate in faculty governance, including leadership roles in the Center for Health Equity. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Earned research doctorate in nursing or a related field, • Evidence of scholarly achievement, including research funding, data-based publications, and national/international professional presentations. • Prior academic experience preferred. • Nurses preferred and health professional with community partners in the United States. • Current license to practice nursing, eligible for licensure in Maryland, if applicable.
