Susquehanna International Group, LLP Electricity Strategist - Mid in BALA CYNWYD, Pennsylvania

Susquehanna International Group, LLP, Bala Cynwyd, PA seeks Electricity Strategist (Mid) to participate in strengthening the company's trading expertise in the North American electricity markets, using knowledge of transmission planning and Independent System Operators/Regional Transmission Organizations (ISO/RTO) market operations; Translate technical information into relevant trade ideas and generate strategies; work with large data sets and analytical software to develop relevant trade recommendations for electricity/power traders and develop new strategies for new markets; Perform fundamental analyses of electric power market data, run simulation models to generate trade ideas for electricity markets and provide price forecasts and transmission analyses; and provide support and partner with electricity/power traders. Contribute to economic modeling of large scale power systems, including unit commitment, economic dispatch and optimal power flow, using power modeling softwares; Run analysis on historical bids and awards to discover ways to improve bidding methodologies for future auctions; and train and mentor junior team members.

 

Requires Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electrical or Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a related field, plus two (2) years of progressively responsible experience that involves economic modeling of large scale power systems. Experience must include two (2) years of unit commitment, economic dispatch and optimal power flow using Dayzer, PROMOD, MAPS, PowerWorld, Panorama or related power modeling software; OR two (2) years of running generation stack models or statistical models resulting in either forecasted power flows or forecasted LMP prices. Employer will also accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience that involves economic modeling of large scale power systems.
