System One Solar Medium Voltage Superintendent in Bakersfield, California

Job Title: Medium Voltage Superintendent

Job Site Location: Kern County, CA

Job Type: Contract (May 2024 – May 2025)

Compensation: Hourly Pay + $149/Per Diem (Company Truck also Included)

Overview:

System One is looking to hire a MV Superintendent for a solar and BESS site in Kern County, CA. The ideal candidate for this position is a skilled superintendent with electrical experience within the utility scale solar and renewable energy industry.

The Superintendent will work closely with the CM, provide leadership, manage day-to-day operations on the site. This position will require excellent communication skills, problem solving abilities, strong computer skills, analytic thinking, and a high skill level of MV electrical systems.

  • The MV Superintendent with act as an owner’s representative onsite.

  • Act as inspector for electrical areas onsite.

  • Observe and inspect contractor construction activities including methods and materials used to ensure compliance with contractual design and requirements.

  • Conduct daily electrical inspections and generate reports for any specific task on a given day.

  • Document all inspections and observations via Procore and in accordance with the PEP.

  • Maintain the job books in accordance with the PEP. Review for accuracy and completeness. Job books include but are not limited to:

  • Tooling Job Books

  • Foundation and Mechanical Job Books

  • Electrical Collections Job Books

  • SCADA Job Books

  • Transmission Line Job Books

  • Substation Job Books

  • O&M Building Job Books

  • Use Procore to issue written communication in the event there are any safety and health violations observed.

  • As needed review any pay requests made by contractors to validate and check for any inaccuracies or discrepancies.

  • Conduct walkdowns as needed and prepare punch list items. Conduct final inspections as needed to verify punch list completion.

    Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required; advanced education preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years in the utility scale solar/renewable energy industry.

  • Must have at least 5 years of electrical experience.

  • At least 3 years of construction management in electrical, utility scale solar experience (required).

  • OSHA 10 Certification (preferred)

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
