THE ROLE:SANITATION WORKER

  • This position will report to the:Sanitation Supervisor
  • Travel Requirement:None
  • Location: Bakersfield, CA
  • FLSA Status:Non-Exempt
  • Shift:AM and PM Shifts
  • Employment Category:Full Time - Regular
  • Pay Range:$18.25-$18.75/hr.

WHAT YOULL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

Sanitation workers clean and sanitize equipment, facilities, and grounds of production plants following production runs. The departments traditional work hours are: Monday-Friday, 8pm - 4:30am.

  • Responsibilities include but not limited to cleaning production equipment, machines and work areas in a food processing facilities.
  • Responsible for the removal of raw product and solid wastes in preparation of the sanitizing cycle
  • Remove solid waste and raw products from floors
  • Cover and protect all sensitive equipment with canvas/plastic covers
  • Preparatory rinsing of all food contact surfaces
  • You will also be responsible for handling and preparing cleaning chemicals, preparing sanitizes, preparing chemical concentrations, handling and storing the chemicals.
  • Apply cleaning chemicals to all machinery, using centralized or portable foaming systems, rinse and remove of cleaning chemicals
  • Operate forklift for chemical transportation and trash disposal
  • Operate riding scrubber to clean large areas of process floors
  • Help with the disassembling of specified equipment for deep cleaning
  • Apply heavy-duty chemicals to break down accumulated sugars
  • Apply concentrated sanitizer to walls and overhead
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 0 to 6 months Sanitation Experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Must be reliable, responsible, dependable, and be able to fulfill obligations
  • Work as a team and follow instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Environmental exposure -wet, cold, and warm environments
  • Material exposure-moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations
  • Ability to lift/push-pull/carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time
