EXACT STAFF Refrigeration Tech in Bakersfield, California

We are seeking a responsible and skilled Refrigeration Tech for a well-known Bite Size Potato Company in Arvin, CA. This position is responsible for installing and maintenance of climate-control systems. Knowledgeable of all components of these systems, read blueprints and schematics, understand compliance standards, understand local building codes

Shift available: 1st Shift - 5:00pm - 3:30pm

(Must be available for overtime as needed)

Pay Rate: $19.00-$28.00/HR (Depending on Experience)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Executes daily refrigeration system, pneumatic, water and cogeneration operation maintenance to meet or exceed Company standards.

Works with staff to evaluate data and coordinate process control changes.

Performs maintenance of process equipment and facilities infrastructure.

Performs regulatory and process control testing, inspections, reviews procedures and quality control to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.

Prepares for and responds to ammonia refrigeration system emergencies.

Collaborates in maintenance and construction projects.

Identifies equipment repair and improvement needs.

Requests equipment replacement parts, chemicals, and supplies

Do the walk through of the areas check work orders, prioritize maintenance requests, troubleshoot repairs, prepare a plan and coordinate with co-workers / supervisor a schedule to complete the work in a timely manner.

Monitor the energy sources physically and visually via the computer monitoring system and make adjustment updates and corrections as needed.

Respond to all callouts promptly, troubleshoot issues, perform repairs, fire prevention, maintenance of all energy sources, refrigeration, HVAC, coolers, water, ammonia systems, chiller, generators, air compressors, equipment and machinery as required.

Plan proper operational repair work sequences and minimize production delay to perform preventative maintenance tasks on energy systems and production equipment, coordinate with co-workers / supervisor a schedule to complete the work in a timely manner.

Maintain / repair plant systems, evaporators and filtration systems, clean evaporators and condensers as scheduled, change recorder charts and maintain recording equipment.

Change gaskets, install filter bags, check heaters, strainers, pressure regulators, bleed lines, perform quality checks etc.

Read work orders, blueprints, drawings and plans, perform installations, fabrications, cut, grind, other machining tasks and maintain the maintenance logbook as required.

Enter downtime data, and other checks in daily log, complete Preventative Maintenance sheets, help replenish the department inventory, including reordering parts as required.

Observe all areas of the facility for responsible equipment, report deficiencies to Supervisor

Weare proper PPE as needed

Perform housekeeping duties to maintain clean and safe working environment in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

2+ Years experience of Industrial Refrigeration or similar role.

Must have flexible availability

Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions on process control systems.

Must have a good understanding of Refrigeration and related Controllers and knowledge of industrial controllers (example: troubleshooting PLC equipment).

Must be able to communicate clearly so others may clearly understand instruction, reports, production, specification documents, and records

Must have basic computer skills able to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn company software and to perform basic math calculations.

Must be able to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
