Amazon Data Center Technician Trainee in Bahrain, Bahrain

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for Trainee Data Center Technicians to join our expanding team as part of our Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP).

Trainees will participate in a 12 week work and training program in our Bahrain Data Centers.

As a Trainee you will work as part of the Data Center Operations (DCO) Team whose primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the Data Center infrastructure. Our Data Centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will be working on changing the face of cloud technology.

Key job responsibilities

· Effectively troubleshoot and repair servers and networks under supervision

· Hardware troubleshooting and replacement

· Server and networking equipment installation and removal

· Responsible for the RMA and repair process for all devices

· Support senior technicians in daily works and activities

· Support project work

Candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly are critical to being successful.

A day in the life

As a Trainee Technician, you will work with experienced Data Center Technicians, following them during hardware and network troubleshooting. You will have the opportunity to provide our internal workforce with infrastructure related support, resolving tickets related to HW (Motherboard, RAM, CPU, GPU, etc) and networking tickets (Link Down, Optics Replacements, Switch Replacements, etc). At all times you will be working with experienced Data Technicians or on defined directed workflows.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education

• 18 years or older

• Experience with Microsoft Office

• Ability to work 48 hours/week. Must be able to work 12 hour shifts as needed

· Understanding of basic computer/network concepts

Preferred Qualifications

· Understanding of IT Hardware Concepts

· Understanding of x86 Architecture
