Amentum Supply Chain Manager in Baghdad, Iraq

Location: Erbil, Iraq

Job Summary

The Supply Chain Manager manages processes for supply, procurement and transportation management systems. Develops and implements plans and programs related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, movement, warehousing, inventory control, planning and quality control of supplies and materials. Develops program-wide policies and procedures to reduce costs, streamline processes and implement solutions.

Principal Accountabilities

(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

  • Provides visible and effective input for optimizing all supply chain functions within assigned program.

  • Develops standard and integrated policies, procedures and reporting systems to ensure all work centers are providing effective and responsive supply, procurement and transportation support.

  • Ensures all assets are accurately accounted for and adequately stored, secured and safeguarded.

  • Prepares reports, analyzes data and makes recommendations for improving operations. Monitors the status of all program supply systems and ensures all work is completed to quality standards.

  • Benchmarks service standards for each supply chain function against those of peer institutions with a view toward improving effectiveness, client satisfaction and cost.

  • Coordinates resolution of logistics support issues with the customer’s representatives as needed.

  • Supervises supply, warehousing and logistical support personnel.

  • Ensures that all subordinate personnel are adequately trained, equipped and motivated so that the Supply Chain Management program can be executed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Communicates regularly with all Supply Chain Management personnel.

  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.

  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of modern principles of efficient materials management, movement and inventory control.

  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations; experience with import/export issues.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or associated discipline preferred.

  • Eight (8) or more years’ progressively responsible experience in materials management or related field.

  • Prior experience in a high volume global supply chain management environment.

  • Prior military logistics experience preferred.

  • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • OCONUS: Some positions will be assigned to overseas locations where living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable, with long hours, exposure to weather, dust, and hazardous/harsh conditions.
