SOS International LLC Operations Manager (OCONUS) in Baghdad, Iraq, Iraq

Overview

This position is contingent upon a contract award

SOSi is seeking an Operations Manager to support a U.S. Government customer in Iraq. The Operations Manager report to the Program Manager (PM) and shall act in the same capacity as the Deputy Program Manager (DPM) during any absence of the DPM. The duties and responsibilities listed are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Essential Job Duties

  • Maintain a safe workplace and ensuring safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

  • Comply with all Environmental & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals. Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.

  • Manage, monitor, and track all services.

  • Allocate and manage staff resources according to changing needs.

  • Identify problem areas and respond to mission requirements to perform task order requirements.

  • Plan and manage projects.

  • Control resources; monitor staff proficiency and qualifications; monitor the locations and activities of assets; and coordinate the flow of information to and from ILSS staff and USG representatives.

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active in Scope Secret security clearance.

  • Associate degree in a related field or discipline.

  • 10 years’ Logistics and/or O&M support services management experience with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in providing such services to large operations.

  • Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.

  • Valid driver’s license from home of record.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ILSS activities for a comparable operation.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and time management skills.

  • Expert computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.

  • Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees, prepare reports for upper management and facilitate/disseminate information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant overseas facilities management experience.

  • Previous international experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions.

  • Experience working with Contractor.

  • Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.

  • Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.

Work Environment

  • Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.

  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
