Overview

SOSi is seeking a Chef for our current contract located on Camp Taji, Iraq.

Essential Job Duties

  • Overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen.

  • Maintaining or raising the profit margins on food.

  • Managing ,training and leading the brigade of cooks.

  • Having excellent cooking skills.

  • An understanding of produce and ingredients.

  • The ability to write menus that are both creative and profitable.

  • Holds health and safety and food hygiene awareness.

  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standard.

  • Ensure that the staff maintain good hygiene and safety standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in full service or institutional food service environment.

  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to interact effectively with customers and other personnel.

  • Knowledge of food service and sanitation standards.

  • Excellent knife skills for food preparation.

  • Ability to consistently arrive punctually and contribute to positive dining atmosphere.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Work Environment

  • Willingness to live and work under environmental and other conditions that may be uncomfortable at times.

  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.

  • Requires periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights or weekends when necessary.

  • May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
